Although this discussion is a little old, it certainly will not lose its significance as long as there's a Constitution and Obama is holding the office of the President of the United States of America. I was discussing this issue with my step father in-law and noted that I am a naturalized citizen (became one hoping to be the deciding vote to defeat Clinton in his second term) and said that my mother was born in Lockport, NY (making her a US Citizen) but she immigrated to Canada before immigration was a big deal (she never applied officially for Canadian citizenship). Well, my folks moved back to the US, many years later when I was around 9 and I still remember dad parking the car on the Lewiston suspension bridge crossing the Niagara river and swaying in the wind on the wooden planks while dad and mom discussed with the border agents whether mom was an American or a Canadian (you had to declare your citizenship when crossing the border - she said she was Canadian). One wise sage border guy finally (after several meetings - and bridge experiences) said "lady - you were born in America and you are living in America - you are an American - don't tell anyone about your time in Canada". At which point my step father in-law said "then you didn't have to be naturalized". I disagree, I was born on foreign soil (not on embassy grounds) to a Canadian born father and was brought up learning (at that time) English/British history etc. To cut to the chase (finally): Obama, if he has nothing to fear, would simply open up all his records for review. He hasn't, which leaves me very uneasy about his integrity. If the Supreme Court needs to make a call on his qualifications to be President, so be it. If they say yes he is - they hold the final say, if they say no and he is removed, so be it - there will be rioting but if we ignore the constitution, who or what is our guiding document for the nation? If the constitution needs to be amended, then let proper procedure take place and let congress go through due process.
