The snooze button turns 50 today. So I made a poll.

I'm a snooze alarm person, I admit it.

My kids wake me up.  I would hit them but I doubt it would stop them from waking me up.

heh.  Have you tried throwing things?  My aim has been getting better, but I still haven't got close enough to do any good.  The diversion seems to distract them, though.  Distracts me, anyway, and I get a good thirty second nap in before they come back at me.

Sometimes, I give them a bowl of cereal and then run back to bed.  I can maybe get another 10 minutes for that.  It usually isn't worth it though, they end up throwing their cereal on the floor.  There are way too many messes to clean up in a day.

I hear ya.  I HEAR ya.  What I can sometimes do is get out of bed, slap 'em into their high chairs, and crawl up on the couch.  That gets me about 10 minutes at about the same cost you pay- much of it on the floor.  But then I give them a banana, and I get another 10 minutes.  Sometimes, i'm lucky and I can buy another 10 by giving them juice at that point.   I guess that would make them human snooze alarms.

This week I've been up before them, though, so maybe those days are over.

I haven't been using an alarm since I got back to the states, but that may change this Thursday, when work starts at 8AM, my current wake-up time w/o alarm.

When I do use an alarm I rarely use the snooze function, not b/c I don't want to sleep more but because I've trained myself to get up the first time it goes off (gives me more and better sleep compared to hitting the snooze 5 times).

Ah, to sleep like the childless-young-adults again...

I could add a whole list of things I would like to enjoy like I did as a childless-young-adult but that might dissuade a childless-young-adult from having a child.  I want ALL to experience parenthood with small children.  Come, come meet your destiny childless-young-adult...

"GET UP, YOUR LATE!!!"

Man, I hate rolling out of bed and running out that door at 5 am.  A time like that is for the birds!

And I dare not try to press my personal snooze alarm... [biggrin

Believe it or not;

For many many a year I have at least 4 sometimes 5 or 6 alarm clocks all set just a couple minutes apart. I hit the snooze on everyone of them at least 4 times or more.  I am ALWAYS super groggy every morning. I get the recommended 7 to 8 hours every night.

And when I do crawl out of bed, and 'crawl' is accurate, I stumble, very blurry-eyed, to the closest sink, and there have been times I've fallen and just crashed back out right there on the floor until all the alarms go off again and I drag myself back up,  and have to splash cold water on my face. That's just so I can see straight enough to push the on button on the coffee maker.  I then groggly wait for the mud to quit oozing out of the coffee machine and glup it. Once I do that then I awake slowly enough to carry out all the morning activities of daily living. (Brushing teeth, SS&S etc.) Only after all that is done, and I got 2 or 3 cups of mud in me, am I fully awake.

Cheery morning people make me want to puke. And then kill them.
